Banana oatmeal cookies

What happens when you mash up banana's and add to oatmeal cookies? Amazing-ness!!! SOOOO yummy! I wanted to whip up a trial batch, I'm starting to think about Benjamin's party menu. These might make the cut :)
And look at the super cute flowers David brought home today :) You can't see it because the sunflower is in the front but there's a for real piece of cabbage in there. At least that's what it looks like. Kinda crazy-but looks pretty cool!

How to wear a baby out

Brian and Emma invited everyone over for a BBQ tonight. As usual I ate way too much :( Everything was super yummy though-I couldn't help it!!
They just got a new trampoline this summer and the kids LOVED it tonight-even Benjamin. I could barely get him in his crib before he was closing his eyes. I might have to take him over there in the evenings more often!

Litchfield

We packed up the car (it's crazy how much stuff we need now that we have a child!) and headed to Litchfield today. A family friend on David's Moms side has a house on a lake and were kind enough to let us all come out for the day. It's the longest car ride for Benjamin to date. Next week we'll push it a little further with the 5 hour drive to TN and then next month we'll really push it with the 12 hour drive to Destin. Wish us luck!!!

Benjamin sportin his new life jacket

We had high hopes Benjamin would take a nap while we were out there, but he was like "yeah, right...in your dreams" oh well-at least he hung out in the pack n play long enough for me to eat a hot dog :)

Baby Shower Favors

I don't think these pictures do them justice. I forgot my camera so I had to resort to the crummy camera on my phone :( Oh well...

Katie's good friend is having a shower this weekend and the Mom to be LOVES M&M's so we turned empty baby food jars into magical containers filled with chocolate goodness :) I was concerned about being able to collect 40 jars in time for the shower but I should have known better. Benjamin is a eating machine so it wasn't long before we had the stock pile we needed. I think they're adorable! Plus it was just one more reason to use my beloved cricut machine :)

Family Time

We finally got some use out of our guest bedroom last month. My Dad and Kim came to visit :) And we'll be making the trip to TN next weekend (Maddie's going to summer camp in the country for a few weeks)
Here are a few pictures from the weekend

Sabre aka grey beard

Look at Benjamin's face, it looks like he can't wait to dive in...can you blame him though? Look how perty that present is!

Holy Moly! So much to play with! (yep, we're hoosiers that let our baby play outside with no pants on-don't judge!)

Zucchini Cakes

There seems to be zucchini everywhere right now. David and I usually just slice it up with yellow squash but I got kind of burnt out on that. So I decided to switch it up and try something new. I'm a huge fan of crab cakes so I figured lets try zucchini cakes ;)

They were oh so easy to make and were Delish!

Recipe
1 mamajama zucchini
1/2 cup parm. cheese or some sort of blend (I used parm. and mozz)
3/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
3-4 pressed garlic cloves
sea salt and black pepper

Grate the zucchini. Wrap the shreds up in a towel and squeeze. I didn't realize zucchini's were so juicy. All of that water would make it pretty soggy so squeeze squeeze squeeze. After that add all of the ingredients and mix. The recipe I read online (sorry...can't remember where I found it) said to heat up a skillet with at least an inch of oil. Not necessary unless you like the extra fat. I was good with just a little coating. Cook each side for about 2 min. and Voila...perfecto!

See...I told you-easy peasy :)
