Happy 4th!
Of course we sported Red White and Blue
And of course Benjamin was hanging out by the food
This picture cracks me up - Ally looks super bored
The kids had a blast! It was definitely a 4th to remember!

Whoa
Holy Smokes last week went by fast!
The dreaded day of returning back to work was last
Tuesday and saying it was devastating is an understatement. I was
caught completely off guard! Of course I was sad after going to work
after Benjamin but I wasn’t cry every day for a week
/ think about nothing else but being home sad! I need to give David mad
props for being so patient and understanding last week because I’m not
gonna lie – it wasn’t pretty. I was super needy and VERY emotional.
But I can happily say that I feel like my normal
self and finding that getting back into the work routine is not so bad.
I guess I just needed some time to adjust. I’m not sure why it was so
much harder this time around. Maybe it has
something to do with the fact that Ally was a much more laid back baby
at this age than Benjamin was so my time at home with her was so easy.
You had to work pretty darn hard to keep Benjamin happy when I was on
maternity leave and he was getting up constantly
throughout the night. But Ally – she smiles ALL the time and she goes
down around 7:30ishpm and gets up once around 3 to eat and then goes
right back down for 3 or so hours. Maybe she’s making up for that crazy
ride of a pregnancy she put me thru! Don’t
get me wrong –I cherished the time I had at home with Benjamin as well
but I’m guessing the fact that it was harder with him made it a little
easier to go back to work. I also know Ally is my last baby and they
grow up so dang fast so I’m trying to soak up
every last little second I can! This baby phase seems to fly by in the
blink of an eye.
And of course Benjamin is pushing us to our limits (as usual!)
but he seems to be full of extra attitude these days! I’m talking crazy
stuff like getting mad because I won’t let him wear his red pants (I
mean c’mon it’s 90 degrees outside!)
I tried to tell him that it’s too hot but the kid is persistent! Or how
about the fact that he gets super upset if we don’t put ketchup exactly
where he wants it on his plate. He loves to spend several minutes
trying to decide what he wants for a snack after
school only to change his mind right after I make whatever it is that
he originally wanted. Basically what I’m trying to say is any little
thing might spark a melt down and we never know when it’s gonna
happen. And believe me, we’re trying our hardest not
to let the little guy get away with it. We’ve gone through phases
before (kicking, spitting etc) so I’m sure we’ll get through it but man
it’s hard!
See what I'm talking about!
So bare with me, this little blog of mine is prob. going to be a little slow in the next couple of weeks until I can get myself back on track with a normal routine.

Weekly
So I'm pretty behind on the weekly pictures.
I have week 5 6 AND 7 to share. And in a couple of days we'll already be at 8 weeks! Crazy!

Favorte Things
I'm way overdue for a favorites post
Something easy and FREE - Water :)
For whatever reason I've never been a huge water drinker. I always thought it was boring. Sure I'd make myself drink it at dinner but that's usually about it. However, ever since I've been at home with Ally I've been drinking 100 plus oz a day! I'm soooo thirsty all the time. I've been filling up the Hospital Jug at least 3 times a day.
I also have discovered that drinking that much water is doing wonders for my nails! If you know me-you know I'm a nail biter. I've never had pretty nails - even if I could refrain from biting them down they'd peel and flake off. Maybe it was all those high school years of fake nails that damaged them. But now they're long, strong and oh so pretty (at least for me they are!)
Speaking of nails - that brings me to this awesome cuticle conditioner.
A little goes a long way - I've had this same bottle for months now and I still have over half the bottle left!
elf shimmer stick
I found this at Target and it's only $1! Having a newborn and a toddler to keep up with doesn't exactly = much rest. So I've been using this to cover up the circles that are developing under the peepers. I love it!
Gossip Girl
Thanks to a couple of my friends, I am now hooked on this TV series! And it's definitely been a life saver for those middle of the night feedings. It's based on a richy rich group of high school kids in NY. I'm not sure exactly how many seasons there are, so far I'm on season two.
Another TV series...
Scandal
If you haven't been watching this - stop reading now and go start! The first season is on netflix. It's SOOO good!
