EAT

Here's the before picture of what the dining room wall looked like yesterday before we David hung up my EAT signs.
That wall has been driving me crazy ever since we moved in.  We have vaulted ceilings so it makes that wall seem extra huge - and that buffet up against the wall just wasn't cutting it.  There was still sooooo much empty space.  I thought about hanging some sort of shelving configuration but ultimately settled on this EAT project.  I bought those metal square wall hangings at a antique mall prob. close to 2 years ago! They were a copper color until I attacked them with the bottle of white spray paint :) David glued the letters on for me and voila - instant wall transformation :)
I think it fills up the wall a little more and I like the extra texture it has.  And I'm thinking there might still be room for a 4ft shelf to go above it to display picture frames.

Run Forest Run

I am still trying to get into a solid exercise routine but work and two kiddos and just life in general make it really hard to stay motivated.
Have you ever heard of runners high?  I've definitely heard of it before but never experienced it until a couple of weeks ago and now every time I put my shoes on I'm hoping I'm lucky enough to experience it again.
For me, it went a little something like this
I was running down the street minding my own business when all of a sudden I started to get these crazy goosebumps and a surge of adrenaline - kinda like that sudden rush of fear you get when you have to slam on the brakes for whatever reason when you're driving.  And don't ask me why but my eyes started to water a little too.  It was the strangest thing but at the same time it was such a great boost to keep me going.
I've ran a handful of times since then and every time I came up empty handed.  BOOO! Oh well..I guess I'll just keep at it and hope that I'm fortunate enough to experience it again and hopefully soon :)
I just looked back to my last running post picture and I can definitely tell a difference :) which I'm supa dupa excited about! If only I could remember to take a picture before running! Maybe next time:)

Pool Fun

David and I have dreams of a big pool in the back yard, until that day comes we're going to settle with this Intex 8footer :)
Benjamin LOVES it and it's just big enough for David and I to cool off too

Happy 4th!

The weather was perfect! Remember last year?  100 plus degrees outside! They even canceled firework shows because of how hot and dry it was last year.  But not this time! It felt great out.  We had BBQ fun and ended the night with some fireworks in the driveway at Mike and Katie's :)

Of course we sported Red White and Blue

And of course Benjamin was hanging out by the food

This picture cracks me up - Ally looks super bored

The kids had a blast! It was definitely a 4th to remember!

Whoa

Holy Smokes last week went by fast!
The dreaded day of returning back to work was last Tuesday and saying it was devastating is an understatement.  I was caught completely off guard! Of course I was sad after going to work after Benjamin but I wasn’t cry every day for a week / think about nothing else but being home sad! I need to give David mad props for being so patient and understanding last week because I’m not gonna lie – it wasn’t pretty.  I was super needy and VERY emotional.
But I can happily say that I feel like my normal self and finding that getting back into the work routine is not so bad.  I guess I just needed some time to adjust.  I’m not sure why it was so much harder this time around.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Ally was a much more laid back baby at this age than Benjamin was so my time at home with her was so easy.  You had to work pretty darn hard to keep Benjamin happy when I was on maternity leave and he was getting up constantly throughout the night.  But Ally – she smiles ALL the time and she goes down around 7:30ishpm and gets up once around 3 to eat and then goes right back down for 3 or so hours.  Maybe she’s making up for that crazy ride of a pregnancy she put me thru!  Don’t get me wrong –I cherished the time I had at home with Benjamin as well but I’m guessing the fact that it was harder with him made it a little easier to go back to work.  I also know Ally is my last baby and they grow up so dang fast so I’m trying to soak up every last little second I can!  This baby phase seems to fly by in the blink of an eye.

And of course Benjamin is pushing us to our limits (as usual!) but he seems to be full of extra attitude these days! I’m talking crazy stuff like getting mad because I won’t let him wear his red pants (I mean c’mon it’s 90 degrees outside!) I tried to tell him that it’s too hot but the kid is persistent! Or how about the fact that he gets super upset if we don’t put ketchup exactly where he wants it on his plate.  He loves to spend several minutes trying to decide what he wants for a snack after school only to change his mind right after I make whatever it is that he originally wanted.  Basically what I’m trying to say is any little thing might spark a melt down and we never know when it’s gonna happen.   And believe me, we’re trying our hardest not to let the little guy get away with it.  We’ve gone through phases before (kicking, spitting etc) so I’m sure we’ll get through it but man it’s hard!
See what I'm talking about!

So bare with me, this little blog of mine is prob. going to be a little slow in the next couple of weeks until I can get myself back on track with a normal routine.
